Fijian Fun Fest

hey all Mike here, attempting to spice up this blog a bit. Karina and Alexa are off snorkeling or something, so I figured i'd throw on some fine, fine Jimmy buffet tunes and tell y'all what we've up to. We arrived in Fiji a few days ago. The plane ride was a long, drug-induced haze for me of sorts. Having dinner and breakfast in the same flight is....disorienting. For a second a began to wonder if there was a glitch in the matrix. It's been on and off pouring since we've arrived. As of now, it's gorgeous out. Perfect time to pay for some precious Internet and blog about how nice it is outside. hey all Mike here, attempting to spice up this blog a bit.  Karina and Alexa are off snorkeling or something, so I figured i'd throw on some fine, fine Jimmy buffet tunes and tell y'all what we've up to. For a second i began to wonder if there was a glitch in the matrix. It's been on and off pouring since we've arrived. As of now, it's gorgeous out. Perfect time to pay for some precious Internet and blog about how nice it is outside.  We've been having a pretty good time. There's plenty of activities to participate in and people for me to stare at, so Ive been doing a decent job of staying occupied.  Despite the craptacular weather yesterday, it wasn't too bad. I ended up getting the most delicious and expensive drinks on the menu and proceeded to play War with the girls. After a French-caliber fighting performance from Karina, it came down to Alexa and I. After a few TRIPLE WARS (!!!!!), she was soundly defeated. Not before me screaming out "WAR!!!!!" and "VALU!!!!!" over and over again (VALU means war in Fijian). Alexa was a good sport though. The food here is surprisingly amazing. Unfortunately it isn't free. So I've decided to stick with the free continental breakfast consisting of toast and orange juice to save both money and time...I currently have too much surface area and applying sunscreen takes too goddamn long. Hopefully my two birds one stone strategy works out.  Going to take part in the cava juice ceremony tonight. Apparently it makes you hallucinate and numbs your mouth...I'm beginning to understand why Fijians are so happy all the time. Jesus, the frogs. At night there are literally like....they're....just frogs! EVERYWHERE!!! I've already stepped on one (it was fine though). Honestly...hundreds upon hundreds of frogs. I know what they're thinking when they meet my gaze...."soon" they think... "soon".  Things I've learned: -bula = hello, moray =goodbye, vinaka = thank you, valu = war -the eyelids are the worst part of the body to get sunburned Time to go smash some pineapples on the beach. Till next time Stay frosty, Mike We've been having a pretty good time.
